The story
Discover Windhoek
Windhoek sits in a bowl of hills at about 1,700 metres, a small capital with good restaurants, craft markets and a relaxed pace. Most safaris start here, and a night at either end of a trip makes the arrival and departure days considerably easier.
Our private city tours visit the Christuskirche (built in 1907), the Parliament Gardens around the Tintenpalast and the Independence Memorial Museum, and the Namibia Craft Centre is the place for souvenirs made by artisans from across the country. The highland bush around the city is also rewarding birding country.
