Overview
A 25-day overland expedition across Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe that pairs every day's wildlife with the history and cultural heritage of the people who live there. It starts and ends in Windhoek.
In Namibia the route runs from Windhoek over the Spreetshoogte Pass to the red dunes of Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and Sesriem Canyon, then across the Tropic of Capricorn and the Kuiseb Canyon to Swakopmund, the flamingos of the Walvis Bay Lagoon and the ancient Welwitschia plants of the Namib. It follows the Skeleton Coast past the Cape Cross seal colony into Damaraland for the Twyfelfontein rock engravings, the Damara Living Museum and desert elephant tracking, and continues north through Opuwo to Epupa Falls for a respectful visit to a Himba village. Three days in Etosha National Park lead from the quiet western sector at Galton Gate to Okaukuejo and Namutoni, before the Kavango River at Divundu, Mahango Game Park and the Kwando riverways of the Zambezi Region.
Crossing into Botswana at Ngoma, you reach Kasane and Chobe National Park for riverboat safaris and open 4x4 game drives, then cross the Kazungula border into Zimbabwe for two days at Victoria Falls - Mosi-oa-Tunya, "The Smoke That Thunders". Back in Botswana the route visits the Nata Bird Sanctuary on the Makgadikgadi's Sua Pan and Maun, spends a day on the Okavango Delta waterways by mokoro, and ends with two days among the San of the Ghanzi Kalahari before returning to Windhoek via the Buitepos border post and Gobabis.

Questions & answers
For travel in the peak season (July to October) we recommend booking three to six months ahead, as lodges and camps fill early. Outside those months six to eight weeks is usually comfortable, and we can often arrange something at short notice.
Yes. Almost every safari on this site can be adjusted for dates, pace, accommodation level and interests, and we regularly build itineraries from scratch. Use "Plan My Safari" and we will come back to you with a proposal.
Yes. Solo travellers are welcome on scheduled departures, and a single supplement applies where a private room is required.
Bank transfer is our standard method, and additional options may be enabled from time to time. All available methods are shown during checkout.
A deposit is required to secure your booking. The percentage is shown clearly before you confirm and again on your invoice.
